just a few things we love about this place

1. Going to this place:

Simly stunning.

2. These:

3. And this:

4. Going here on our days off:

Although we are always at the park working, it's a completely different experience to go as a guest. We get in free now so it's nice to get a bite to eat, go on one or two rides, and head home. . . something neither of us had ever experienced because going to Disneyland was a rare event. Coming here on vacation, you want to get the most for your money, and honestly, I really love what we get to do now. It's allowed us to appreciate and take in all the magic.

5. The weather. Everyone from here is bundled up in peacoats and scarves in 60 degree weather, while we walk around in shorts and flip flops. It's quite heavenly if you ask us.

6. And here:

working on a stephanie blog

It's time to make a lovely blog. I love being a woman. I love being feminine. I love love. I love being happy. I love life.

My desire is to become the leading lady of this life of mine. This new blog will follow this quest to become this lovely woman.

Here it is! It's not much now, but it will be!

my thoughts. . .dang it. . . total disney nerd. . .

I feel like a total Disney nerd.

Every time I pack for the move, I listen to our sounds of Disneyland Albums.

Sometimes when I drive, I listen to the Space Mountain track. I can't help but drive faster.

Aaron found the soundtrack to Soarin' and gave it to me for Christmas. He popped it into the dvd player and we sat on the couch and listened. I cried. Nerdy.

There's a part of my heart that feels like I should be ashamed that I'm not going down there cast as a performer, but there's a bigger part of me that feels like I don't care. If I audition and get actually cast in something, sure I'll take it. If I decide I love this job as a photographer, I'll stick with that too. Either way, this is going to be an incredible adventure! We're excited to make lots of connections so that when we graduate, we can head back! (It would be INCREDS if Aaron could get a job as an audio engineer with the Dis!) Aaron is bringing his tuba, trumpet, a few guitars, and perhaps some other instruments, and whenever a call for musicians comes along, he's planning on doing it. He's so dang talented, I can't imagine him not getting a performer spot. Love him so much.

Anyway, needless to say we're excited. Only 10 days and we're there!

Stephanie's life as of 1/6/2010

Moving = 0 fun.

I can't stop writing '09 whenever I write the date.
(I had to go back to correct the title of this.)

Traded in my shoes for a smaller size.

I had my first eye exam today. That puff of air they blow into each eye was TERRIFYING. My eyesight isn't the worst, but it is not very good either. I will get my glasses in 7-10 days.

I loved seeing friends when I was at school taking care of last minute things.

Dad made some good soup, so we went over to eat. It was delightful. So glad dad's a good cook.

Now going to GURU'S to watch Aaron perform his last Utah performace for 6 months.

Favorite Things

Baby Reagan Jean Horn

(note that this baby's last name is not Southerland. She's Rob an Kjerstin's little baby and she's DARLING! Also, there is a rumor that I'm pregnant, probably from playing a pregnant woman in Children of Eden and from gaining LOTS of weight, but alas, i'm not and have never been. Aaron and I plan to wait for at least one more year.)

Astro Van, Astro Wan

The good ol' Astro Van has just reentered my life today. I drove that van all through high school and HATED it. Somehow Timmy loved it with all his heart and made it an icon and a popularity thing. He and his buddies lovingly called it the "wan" because his friend from Finland couldn't pronounce the letter "v", so v's were w's to him. (another example of this is how "Converse" shoes would become "Conwerse" and "very" became "wery" ) Anyway, the point is that the van was the greatest thing in his life . . . I don't know how or why. . . but whatever. When he left on his mission he told us all that we better drive that van with love and care, or else, but it's just so huge that I don't know how! So now that Fran will not start up, Big Blue is what I'm stuck with until a nice new car comes along. Aaron has a weird fetish with big vans and wants to keep it (probably from being a musician and needing the space), but I say NO SIR! Even as I sit here typing, he is telling me how much he loves it. I don't understand. I never want to own a van, especially an Astro Van. EVER. That is all.

Hop Scotch Musketeer

Monday went like this:

1. Cleaned and organized! One of my favorite things to do in this world.
2. Went to teach a voice lesson. . . but that didn't happen. Postponed til Thursday.
3. Went to Kinko's to fax in our Disney paperwork. Costed a fortune. Thanks Kinkos. I'll never send faxes through you again (if I ever have to send a fax again. I thought those things went out like pagers).
4. My family took us to dinner at The Pizza Factory. Good pasta there.
5. Found a little friendly kitten. We named him Hop Scotch Musketeer. I wanted to keep him. He was so cute and curious and adventurous and he climbed right inside the truck and on Aaron's shoulders and up on the dashboard where my leftovers were placed and he tried to eat them. We tried dropping him off on the side of the road by some houses because we can't keep him (so sad) but he followed me right back to the truck, and that's when we had a sad but brilliant idea. I got the leftovers ,which he so desperately wanted to eat, and brought them to the sidewalk. He jumped at them and almost ripped them right out of my hand, so I quickly dumped them on the sidewalk, and as he gobbled them up, I got in the car and we drove away. We hope he finds a nice home. We really, really wish we could have kept him, but I suppose it's better this way. Oh yeah, and he looked a little like this:
So after that fun time, we:
6. Went home and had a nice FHE.
7. Watched four episodes of The Muppets Show
8. Made chocolate dipped Oreos for our primary class and Timmy.
9. Did dishes.
10. Went to sleep!

It was another good day. :)
